Drones, missiles – Ukraine reports 1,000 Russians killed and injured

The current situation report of the Ukrainian General Staff estimates the number of Russian soldiers out of action on Tuesday at 1,140. Nearly 328,000 Russian fighters have been killed or seriously injured in Ukraine since the war began.

Ukraine also claimed on Tuesday to have caused the following destruction or damage to units of the Russian occupying forces: 15 tanks, 27 armored vehicles, 32 artillery pieces, three multiple rocket launchers, three air defense systems, 39 drones and 46 other vehicles, according to “n-tv”.

Ukraine and Russia report drone shootings
On Tuesday alone, Russia attacked Ukraine with fourteen missiles and eighty other air strikes. The air force in Kiev said 21 of the 21 drones had been shot down. According to the Ministry of Defense in Moscow, Kiev itself also attacked Russian regions with drones.

There have also been deaths and injuries on the Ukrainian side
“Yesterday the occupiers attacked Ukraine with 21 Shahed-136/131 attack drones. All enemy drones have been destroyed,” the army leadership said on Facebook. The civilian population was killed and injured and infrastructure was destroyed.

“The Ukrainian Air Force shot down 21/21 Shahed drones and 2 Kh-59 cruise missiles in one night. Thank you, our air defenders! We are grateful to partner countries for strengthening air defense,” Ukrainian Defense said on X (see tweet above).

Ukrainian state budget: half goes to armaments
On Monday evening it was also announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had signed the 2024 state budget of the country that wants to join the EU and NATO, spending billions on armaments. The defense budget of over 40 billion euros amounts to approximately half of the total budget expenditure. Kremlin boss Putin puts almost every third ruble into the war chest.
