Horrible industrial accident Thursday morning in the Tyrolean lowlands: A 57-year-old fell seven meters over a stair railing during cleaning work in a building in St. Johann (Kitzbühel district). The woman suffered serious injuries.
According to police, the horrific workplace accident took place around 7:30 am. The 57-year-old was cleaning the building. “While in the second floor stairwell, for unknown reasons the woman fell over the railing and fell approximately twenty feet to the ground floor,” investigators said.
The Austrian suffered serious injuries. “A colleague of the woman immediately initiated the rescue chain and provided first aid,” investigators continued.
By helicopter to the clinic
After receiving initial care from the rescue helicopter team, the 57-year-old was flown to the clinic in Innsbruck.
