Israeli bombings have killed another 75 and injured nearly 300 people in the past day

Date:

75% of the more than 36,000 people who have died so far are women and children. The US claims that the Israeli operation in Rafah is “limited” in scope.

At least 75 people were killed in Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip last day, 21 of them new attacks in displaced persons camps in the west of the southern city of Rafah, and nearly 300 people were injured, the Gaza Health Ministry, controlled by Hamas, said this Wednesday.

Since the outbreak of the war in Gaza, the number of deaths has therefore reached 36,171 75% of them are women and children; and the number of injured stands at 81,420, figures that Gaza authorities insist are outdated as they estimate at least 10,000 people are buried under the rubble.

Neither last Friday’s ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) nor the requests from the international community have had any effect on the Israeli offensive in Rafah, where tanks entered the city center yesterday and their attacks continue. According to the Gaza ministry, the camp in the west of Tal al Sultan or Al Mawasi has already been burned.

The Palestinian Red Crescent (PRCS) has been forced to evacuate one of its field hospitals in Rafah and move it to the Khan Yunis area due to the “continuous air and artillery bombardment” they have been experiencing in the area.

This hospital center represented a health boost for this southern area, where all hospitals managed by the Gaza Ministry of Health are out of action, with the exception of the Emirati Maternity Hospital in the Tal al Sultan neighborhood, northwest of Ráfah.

The Israeli army, in turn, has reported the deaths of three soldiers, aged between 20 and 21, as a result of ‘operations in Rafah’, bringing the number of casualties among troops since the start of the fighting to 291. Israeli offensive in Gaza.

“Limited scope”

The Pentagon, for its part, maintains its analysis that the Israeli army’s operation in Rafah is limited in scope and while describing the attack on the displaced persons camps as “heinous”, it has asked to wait for the results of the investigation. Israeli research.

“We still believe this is a limited operation,” Pentagon deputy spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said at a news conference.
