A 25-year-old and a 23-year-old allegedly wounded a young man with a knife on his thigh in the city center and hit him. They then robbed the victim. The two suspects have been identified and arrested.
On Saturday night around 1:30 am, police officers were called to the first neighborhood because a man was allegedly injured with a knife. The 20-year-old is said to have been out with friends when two men suddenly approached him.
Pepper spray and knives
The two suspects, a 25-year-old and a 23-year-old Syrian, allegedly sprayed the victim with pepper spray, hit him and injured his thigh with a knife. Before fleeing, they stole the victim’s wallet. Thanks to an accurate personal description, the two suspects were located near the scene of the incident by Wega’s special unit.
The 25-year-old and the 23-year-old were temporarily arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery. A knife was found and seized from one of the two suspects. The Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the investigation.
The 20-year-old received emergency medical care from the Vienna Professional Rescue Service and was then taken to hospital.
