555 Christmas trees in the house – German couple sets Christmas world record

Date:

This German couple competes with the White House in the US with their Christmas decorations. The 100 square meter house of Thomas and Susanne Jeromin in Rinteln, Lower Saxony, shines like an entire Christmas village thanks to 555 Christmas trees and 108,000 Christmas baubles. That’s a world record!

Christmas trees, tinsel and decorations as far as the eye can see! Thomas Jeromin clearly has a unique passion for the holy festival. His wife Susanne had to be convinced of her husband’s special hobby, but is now happy to help.

The two of them have placed a total of 555 (plastic) trees in their house. They have been working for six months to make their personal Christmas dream come true. If necessary, cupboards even have to give way to the passion for collecting to create more space.

From June there will be a Christmas atmosphere in the house
The couple has been involved in this unusual hobby since the summer. To be more precise: from June – before the beginning of midsummer! In December they can look forward to lots of tinsel, thousands of lights, bling bling and countless visitors who now come from as far away as Switzerland.

They have a total of 108,000 balls, and Susanne and Thomas never run out of ideas. New this year: a gummy bear tree in the middle of Star Wars and rubber duck trees.

Trained chef Jeromin doesn’t have a favorite tree. However, Thomas can certainly imagine that he will ‘go even further’ next year – and is already thinking of 600 trees. In 2021 there were still 444 pine trees.

89 pine trees in one room
Decorating, setting up and furnishing ‘relaxes’ him, according to the 56-year-old (see video above). This year the two have housed 89 trees in one room alone, and there are also hundreds of Christmas houses, a train, thousands of figures and cuddly toys, nativity scenes, etc.

Decoration prohibited only in the bedroom
However, Jeromin has not revealed where he plans to place the additional 45 pieces. They don’t have much space anymore. Even the bathroom is decorated. Only in the bedroom do the flashing (LED) lights remain off.

You will definitely be facing a hefty electricity bill in the new year. The two emphasized to “SPIEGEL” that the additional costs per season would only amount to “89 euros”.

By the way, the bling bling will be over on January 6 – then the plastic pine trees will go back into the attic – hopefully not until June…
