The Achpark intersection in Lauterach is one of the accident spots in Vorarlberg. On Thursday afternoon, a pedestrian was hit by a car while crossing the street on the protection path.
The driver who turned had simply overlooked the woman; he was probably blinded by the low sun. The passerby fell during the collision and was left lying on the street with unknown injuries.
Breath test negative
Several witnesses to the accident immediately came to the woman’s aid and cared for her until the emergency doctor arrived. She was then taken to the Bregenz State Hospital by Red Cross emergency services. An alcohol test on the driver of the accident was negative.
