The fire brigade in Vienna-Döbling had to be deployed on Thursday afternoon after a large-scale fire broke out on a roof terrace.
The fire on Kahlenberger Strasse had to be fought with a total of four extinguishing lines. Renovation work on the affected residential building is currently underway. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire, Christian Feiler, spokesman for the professional fire brigade, reported on Friday.
Bottles of liquid gas
However, several bottles of liquid gas had to be cooled on site. A total of 35 emergency services arrived on site with eight vehicles. When we arrived, the roof terrace and the roof of the adjacent three-story building were already completely on fire.
Difficult firefighting operation
“Fire lines were immediately deployed for external and internal attacks,” the spokesperson said. “In order to fight the fire in the roof structure, the roof covering had to be opened with special saws.”
The work was completed around 7:30 p.m., Feiler said. It was initially unclear what caused the fire.
