Also Dr. Tara Shirvani, star chemist, best-selling author, climate expert. “It’s so nice to be in Vienna,” says the daughter of Persian immigrants enthusiastically and places her bag, the leather of which is made from mushrooms, on the curry-colored sofa. Her ‘head office’ is London, where the mother of a three-year-old daughter and co-founder of the ‘Climate Crisis Advisory Group’ advises companies, governments and investors after her long career in climate finance at the World Bank in Washington DC. “But I find my inner balance in snowy Austria,” she explains, orders melange and croissants and we are already in the middle of the subject.
“Kron”:Ms. Shirvani, the current cold weather gives many reasons to doubt the climate crisis. How do you respond to people who say climate change has always existed and we shouldn’t be so hysterical?
