For reasons still unclear, an 80-year-old Austrian crossed the opposite lane on Gerlossrasse in Tyrol on Sunday and crashed into an oncoming car. Three people were seriously injured.
On Sunday around 3 p.m., an 80-year-old Austrian drove his car along Gerlossrasse (B 165) in Gerlos. For reasons that are still unclear, the man ended up in the opposite lane in the bend under the Durlaßbodenspeicher and collided with the oncoming car, driven by a 27-year-old Dutchman.
The 80-year-old Austrian, the 27-year-old Dutchman and his 62-year-old passenger were seriously injured. The Austrian was taken by the rescue team to the district hospital, the two Dutchmen to the hospital in Mittersill.
There was serious damage to both vehicles.
