Dangerous operation for police Tuesday in Tyrolean district of Schwaz: The sister of a 56-year-old resident raised the alarm with the police after her brother allegedly threatened to use a pipe bomb and weapons against officials and other people.
The sister told the police that she had already had a visit from her brother on Sunday afternoon. He told her he would store weapons and explosives in his home and threatened to use them against people and the police,” investigators said on Wednesday.
Explosive protection
During a search of the suspect’s home, officers found a small-caliber rifle and a homemade explosive device. The latter has been seized by the harmless service for further investigation.
The 56-year-old is currently still receiving medical care and will then be taken to Innsbruck prison by order of the Innsbruck public prosecutor’s office.
