A woman was found motionless on Elisenstrasse in Vienna-Liesing on Wednesday after a fire broke out in her apartment. The alerted troops of the Vienna Professional Fire Brigade, together with the professional rescue service, were able to successfully resuscitate the fire victim – the woman is now in hospital.
A fire broke out in the woman’s first-floor apartment around 3:50 p.m. According to the fire brigade, the owner of the apartment was able to make the emergency call herself, but then the connection was lost.
Fire victim found motionless in apartment
Emergency services immediately arrived on scene and were able to quickly combat the flames using a fire extinguisher line and wearing breathing apparatus. The fire brigade found the fire victim in a room of the apartment.
Successful revival
Emergency services took her to a safe place in the stairwell. Vienna’s professional rescue service immediately began resuscitation. Together with the fire brigade, they managed to revive the woman. She was then taken to a hospital.
No other people were injured by the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
