Night operation for the volunteers of the volunteer fire brigade in Lungauer Muhr: A driver had lost control of his car. The vehicle ended up in a stream bed.
Around 2 a.m., a driver pressed the so-called “E-Call”, an emergency call button in his vehicle, after a traffic accident. “After the alarm was raised, a firefighter immediately went out and discovered the crashed vehicle,” reports Anton Doppler of the fire brigade.
The small car fell into a stream bed for reasons that are still unclear. The driver was injured in the accident. The Floriani disciple immediately attended to the injured man and cared for him until his colleagues and the rescue team arrived.
While Red Cross paramedics treated the injured man and took him to hospital, 18 firefighters were able to rescue the damaged vehicle with a winch. 13 colleagues from the St. Michael fire brigade supported the operation.
Police investigators have yet to determine how the car crashed. After two hours the operation was over.
