Unknown perpetrators used the weekend to strike at a company in St. Veit. They were looking for a standing safe.
The burglary was of course not an act of opportunity, but rather a targeted action. “The perpetrators forcibly opened a window between Saturday evening and Monday morning and thus gained access to the company building in St. Veit,” the police report. “We went into the office, where they had covered the fire alarm and closed the electric shutters.”
Then they could work safely on the stand undisturbed. “They used a tool they had brought with them to force open the door and stole cash and jewelry from it,” the director said. The exact value of the loot is not yet known, but according to initial information it should amount to several thousand euros.
