US President Joe Biden is convinced that his predecessor Donald Trump “certainly supported an insurrection.” He was referring to the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling on the storming of the Capitol three years ago.
“I leave this decision to the court. But he certainly supported an insurrection,” Joe Biden said on Wednesday. “It’s clear. You’ve seen it all.” As reported, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that Trump was disqualified as president due to his role in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Therefore, the Republican is not allowed to participate in his party’s presidential primaries in Colorado (see video above).
Biden, who rarely comments on the various legal proceedings against Trump, defeated his predecessor in the 2020 election. But Trump refused to acknowledge this and made refuted allegations of election fraud.
Trump’s team plans to appeal the verdict
On January 6, 2021, radical supporters finally stormed Congress. Trump had previously called on people to go to the Capitol and “fight like crazy.” Five people were killed in the incident, which political observers see as part of an attempted coup by Trump. Numerous others were injured, including 140 security personnel.
His campaign team now wants to challenge the fact that Trump is not allowed to perform in Colorado. Conservative justices make up the majority of the U.S. Supreme Court. However, there are currently efforts in other states to ban Trump from the primaries.
In the polls for the 2024 presidential election, Trump and Biden are neck and neck.
