Now nothing works! First the withdrawal of rector candidate Hitz, then a Senate meeting without results and Wednesday with university staff at the diving station. How the power vacuum is crippling Salzburg’s best educational institution.
No one is available, no one wants to talk – Salzburg university staff went to the diving station yesterday. After all: a lady from the press department explained in the afternoon that they did not yet know what Tuesday’s Senate meeting had brought. The office of the current managing vice-chancellor, Martin Weichbold, later said that “due to the scope of the work, they are unable to answer questions at this time.” Please understand. For the University of Salzburg, the seventh largest in Austria and the most important educational institution in the state, this is an indictment.
