A 20-year-old from London surprised his mother with an original gift: Maks Majewski decorated his house with wrapping paper – it took him almost a week to cover even the smallest objects with colorful paper. With great attention to detail, the young man even individually wrapped bananas.
Maks made a Christmas joke with his family when they were out of town for a few days: for this the 20-year-old needed 114 rolls of Christmas paper, for which he invested the equivalent of about 230 euros. He spent 18 hours a day for five days wrapping the entire apartment in wrapping paper. He filmed the action and published it on the video platform TikTok.
He also captured his family’s reactions on camera; they could hardly believe the transformation. His mother Anna covers her mouth in shock at the sight. Maks’ sisters Julia (16) and Suzie (10) seem very impressed with the decorations.
“I was afraid my mother would yell at me,” Maks told the Daily Mail. “My mother spoke Polish when she saw it and she just said, ‘Wow.’ She saw how much effort it took.”
“They thought it was just a silly joke, but then they saw all the details and even complimented it and said it was possibly one of the best things they had ever seen,” the young Brit enthuses. “Looking back, it was 100 percent worth it,” he summarizes.
“I haven’t wrapped any presents yet”
However, he did not expect the workload to be so great: ‘When I started, I thought it would take a day or two, but then you realize how much work it is.’ He started having problems with his back. The hardest part was the armchairs; packing took an hour and a half. He also wrapped the cutlery individually in paper, but that is not visible in the video. However, due to the campaign, he is a bit behind on the other preparations: “I haven’t even wrapped one of my presents yet, so that’s on the to-do list.”
