NATO general certain: – “Putin has lost Ukraine forever”

Date:

According to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Russia will not achieve its war goals in Ukraine despite its enormous efforts. Meanwhile, the standard of living in the largest country in the world in terms of area is declining enormously, the Norwegian said.

The purpose of the invasion ordered by President Vladimir Putin was to prevent Ukraine from moving toward the European Union and NATO, Stoltenberg said in an interview. After almost two years of war, Ukraine is now closer to NATO and the EU than ever before.

“President Putin has lost Ukraine forever,” Stoltenberg concluded, noting that Russia has seen Ukraine as part of its sphere of influence for decades. This is a major strategic defeat for Russia. He is absolutely certain that Ukraine will ultimately achieve its goal of joining NATO.

300,000 dead or wounded Russian soldiers
Stoltenberg also pointed out that Russia is paying a huge price for its war. The country has already lost hundreds of planes and thousands of tanks, and 300,000 soldiers have been killed or injured. As a result of the war, inflation increased and living standards fell. Russia is also more politically isolated than before.

Putin wants to occupy more areas
At the same time, Stoltenberg warned against relying on a quick end to the war in light of developments and against believing that Putin will change course after his expected re-election on March 17. “We have no signs that Putin will change his objectives and his policies,” the former Norwegian prime minister said. “He will continue to try to occupy more areas.”
