After Thursday’s shooting at Charles University in Prague, which left fourteen people dead, there is horror in the Czech capital. It has now become known that the 24-year-old suspect may also be responsible for a terrible bloody act a week ago: a 32-year-old and his two-month-old daughter were executed in a forest.
One day after the terrible disaster just before Christmas, the police are still puzzling over the motive of David K., who caused the massacre at the university. It has now also become known that researchers suspect a connection with another beastly act that took place on the outskirts of the capital last week.
Girl murdered in stroller
A 32-year-old father was literally executed in the Klanovice forest on Friday afternoon with four shots to the head – a witness heard the shots and eventually discovered a stroller and a male corpse just two meters away. “I saw a stroller on the forest path. And then a man was lying next to it,” she said, describing the incident on the news portal “iDnes”. The perpetrator also shot the daughter in the stroller in cold blood. The child was reportedly hit in the chest.
Researcher: Victims selected at random
Police chief Martin Vondrášek said at a press conference that the university killer is suspected of also committing the crime. “We are working very seriously with the currently very real possibility that the attacker of the Faculty of Arts is also responsible for the two victims in Klánovický at the end of last week,” the researcher said. The perpetrator chose his victims at random, he added.
Three foreigners are among the injured
Fourteen people died in the disaster on Thursday. Thirteen of them have already been identified, Interior Minister Vít Rakušan said on Friday. More than twenty people were also injured, some seriously. “Among the injured are three foreigners,” the minister said. According to his resort, there is a Dutchman and two citizens of the United Arab Emirates.
The university shooting is the most tragic in the history of the Czech Republic. In 2015, a gunman killed eight people in a restaurant in Uherské Brod and in 2019, six people were killed in a shooting at a hospital in Ostrava.
