Shortly after 12 noon the alarm went in: a truck was completely on fire on the A1 near Thalgau. The volunteer fire brigades from Thalgau, Seekirchen and Eugendorf were ordered to the western highway. The milk tanker caught fire in the driver’s cabin. The driver was able to get to safety in time.
Fire under control
With the help of two nozzles and the use of foam, the fire was quickly controlled and extinguished. The highway towards Salzburg was closed for approximately 40 minutes while the fire was extinguished and was then diverted to a single lane past the incident location.
