The next serious autobahn accident on the “West”, this time on the “other side of Upper Austria”: At the state border near St. Valentin, a minibus with six people collided with a truck.
The accident happened in heavy traffic on the Vienna lane on Monday morning – a fatal accident occurred between Mondsee and Thalgau on Sunday evening. Police are not yet sure what exactly happened.
Because the minibus collided with the truck just behind the driveway of St. Valentin, it is possible that the truck had first entered the Westautobahn and was therefore still driving slowly.
Six occupants stuck
In any case, the minibus rammed into the truck unbraked from behind and suffered significant dents. Two of the six occupants were trapped and had to be freed by the fire brigade of St. Valentin and The Hague before the Red Cross could take them to hospital. All six occupants required medical attention. Huge traffic jams formed behind the accident site.
