A 37-year-old woman from Klagenfurt was injured on Christmas Day during a post-Christmas walk in Rosental.
Together with her partner – a 49-year-old from Klagenfurt – the 37-year-old walked from the Stouhütte towards Grintotz in the municipality of Feistritz im Rosental on Christmas Day around 9 a.m.
Shortly before their destination, things finally became dangerous for the couple: “Immediately before the Grintoutz, at about 1,550 meters above sea level, they both slid several meters into the valley on an icy rock in the pathless terrain,” said a police officer.
Rescued by helicopter
Because the woman was injured, her boyfriend called 911. They were rescued by the rescue helicopter “Alpin 1” with rope rescue. The 37-year-old was taken to UKH Klagenfurt, the 49-year-old was unharmed. The Ferlach mountain rescue service was deployed with two vehicles and nine men.
