The Broadcasting and Telecoms Regulatory Authority (RTR) is warning of letters fraudulently sending requests for payment of alleged service charges. Don’t fall for it!
The mail items bear the RTR logo, RTR contact details and a QR code. The latter leads to a fake website and after another click to a form where you have to provide your account details so that the service fee can be debited.
The RTR indicates that it does not charge any costs and does not send payment requests. The letters sent are all forgeries. Steps have already been taken to take offline the websites that are accessible via the QR codes in the letters.
