Two robberies – Ominous robbery at a train station: police have arrested ‘Niko’

Martin Baur’s descriptions sound almost unbelievable – and yet they are true! Even the Salzburg investigators now admit: “The victim’s information largely corresponds to the final facts.”

In broad daylight in November, Baur was attacked twice within a few minutes at Salzburg’s main station. The perpetrators stole almost 20,000 euros, reports the “Krone”.

A perpetrator has now been caught. The Lower Austrian confesses – and thus confirms the almost unbelievable stories of Martin Baur.

The German wants to move to Salzburg and that is why he met a real estate agent in Salzburg at the end of November. He withdrew 20,000 euros from the savings bank at the train station ‘for the rent and the down payment’. “Someone must have seen that,” says Baur.

Robber “Niko” suddenly jumped up completely
He then moved to a nearby hotel room and came into contact with a young man. He introduced himself as ‘Niko’. “He said he had nothing to eat and no place to sleep,” Baur said. ‘Niko’ apparently struck a chord with the 65-year-old. The Bavarian invited the teenager for dinner and even let him sleep in his hotel room.

The next day, events came to a head. After breakfast together, “Niko” suddenly disappeared. A couple spoke to the Bavarian at Südtiroler Platz. The man shakes Baur and robs him of an envelope containing about 15,000 euros. The couple disappeared, but ‘Niko’ reappeared. He lured Baur into a side street. There he beat up the German and stole another 5,000 euros from him.

There is still no trace of the couple and their entire loot. “The money has run out,” Baur knows. After all: “I will be more careful from now on and never carry so much cash again.”
