A 13-year-old skier in Tyrol had to be admitted to the clinic in Innsbruck with serious injuries on Thursday. The girl probably crashed into a tree at full speed in the Berwang ski area in the Ausserfern. Further investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
At around 10:45 am, the girl from the Netherlands was skiing on an intermediate slope. The 13-year-old lost control of her skis and skied almost uninhibited over the edge of the piste. There the child collided with a tree and suffered serious injuries.
Witness observed the accident from the elevator
A skier observed the accident from the lift and alerted the piste rescue team. This provided first aid. The girl was eventually rescued by a rescue helicopter and flown to the clinic.
