Questionable Territory Deals – Pasture Accusations: Same Authority Checks Again

The wife of a notary as a farmer? This Piesendorf case shocked “Krone” readers. As reported, the Pinzgauer Peter Höller is fighting for a green space of almost 2.5 hectares next to his farm. He had sold this through a notary in financial distress. His partner now owns the meadow. She is not a farmer – although this would be required by law. However, the authorities did not see this as a problem. Peter Höller’s farm was also owned for a short time by the partner of the Pinzgau notary – the “Krone” reported.

The authorities are now investigating the matter. But: “I don’t have high hopes for that,” says the man from Piesendorf. It would be controlled by the same authorities as for the original sale. This is also confirmed by his legal adviser Gerhard Köstner. The SPÖ also massively criticizes this fact. “What should come out of it, please?” asks Karin Dollinger, member of the state parliament.

Deviations now also outside the Pinzgau
In the report on the property transaction commissions in Pinzgau, the Court of Auditors already criticized the lack of control and monitoring of property transactions. But it is not only there that there are deviations in underlying transactions. The SPÖ has now made an urgent request for a case in St. Gilgen in the state parliament. A retired German businessman wants to buy an 18-hectare estate there. The tenant of the property, a local farmer, is said to condone.

The SPÖ now wants to know whether the state government has agreed to this deal. The fact that the SPÖ – as reported – has submitted a statement of facts to the Public Prosecution Service because of the basic transactions, is now causing political commotion. The ÖVP sees “Viennese circumstances”.
