A spectacular natural accident occurred in the Vorarlberg municipality of Satteins on Saturday evening. A 19-year-old was surprised by a deer in his car on the way to Dünserberg. The young driver then turned the wheel and crashed head-on into a tree. Happy! That prevented a crash.
The 19-year-old drove his vehicle from Rankweil on the L73 towards Dünserberg around 9:05 p.m. In a forest, a deer ran onto the unlit road, scaring the young driver, turning the wheel and veering off the right side of the road.
Head-on collision with tree as a stroke of luck
Due to the sloping terrain, the 19-year-old was no longer able to counter-steer and crashed head-on into a group of trees! Fortunately, the trees prevented the accident vehicle from sliding further.
The passenger had to be taken to the state hospital
Although the driver was not injured in the accident, his passenger had to be taken to the regional hospital in Feldkirch with minor injuries. The vehicle was a total loss. There is no trace of the deer that caused the accident.
