The head of the radical Islamic Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Mohammed al-Sinwar was killed, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Sinwar is the brother of the former Hamas boss Yahya al-Sinwar, who has already been declared dead in mid-October.
Mohammed al-Sinwar was chosen last year as Hamas boss in the Gaza Strip after Israel had killed his brother, Yahya al-Sinwar. This was considered a brain for the terrorist attack on Israel in October 2023.
Sinwar rose to the military leader of Hamas
Mohammed al-Sinwar became head of the armed arm of the Islamic organization after killing the military chef Mohammed deif of the Hamas in July last year. “We eliminated Mohammed Sinwar,” Netanyahu said on Wednesday during a meeting of the Israeli parliament.
According to Israeli media reports, Israel Katz of Israel suspected mid-May that the Hamas boss was killed a few days earlier in an attack in the Gaza Strip. So far, however, there has been no official confirmation.
