After a 26-year-old was almost raped by a man, a 24-year-old suspect was now tracked down and arrested by the police thanks to a witness statement.
A woman suffered a broken jaw during an attempted rape on the night of December 9 in Vienna-Penzing. The 26-year-old was pushed down by the attacker and hit in the face. As a result, she suffered serious facial injuries.
Witness recognized suspect from photos
In the course of the investigation and interviews conducted by the Vienna State Criminal Investigation Department, the suspicion of attempted rape was confirmed.
A few days later, police released a photo of a suspect. A man recognized the Afghan in the photo. This led to the arrest of a 24-year-old, who denied any guilt to investigators. The suspect has been taken into custody by the police.
