Horrible bloodshed in the first hours of the new year in Italy: After slitting his opponent’s throat in Udine, the suspect entered the search network as he fled to Carinthia.
After the New Year’s Eve party in a club in Udine, a seemingly innocent argument between two opponents escalated completely. After the conflict moved to the street, the suspected killer took a knife or a broken bottle and slit the throat of the 30-year-old victim.
Victim died in hospital
The attacker, of Dominican descent, fled and Ezechiele Mendoza G. fought against death while lying on the street. Unfortunately, in vain, alarmed rescuers provided first aid and took the victim as quickly as possible to the hospital in Udine, where he succumbed to his serious injuries. The young Italian ran a small bed & breakfast in Campoformido with his mother.
Arrest at the gates of Carinthia
Meanwhile, the hunt for the suspected murderer was in full swing. The Italian special forces had been lying in wait outside his house near Udine for hours, but around 6 p.m. the handcuffs finally clicked at the gates of Carinthia.
The wanted suspect, 34-year-old Dominican friar Anderson Vasquez D., apparently wanted to escape across the border and eventually fell into the police net during the house search in Tarvisio.
