It was a huge shock for the parents! Their ten-month-old girl fell into the baby pool of a swimming pool in Fügen in Tyrol’s Zillertal on New Year’s Day. The child, who was floating motionless in the water, was resuscitated. Now there is good news from the clinic in Innsbruck: the little one is out of danger.
It is still unclear exactly how the accident could have happened. At an unnoticed moment in Fügen in the Zillertal (Schwaz district), the child fell into a baby bath. The girl was rescued by a bather and resuscitated by a doctor who happened to be present. The little girl was eventually flown to the clinic by rescue helicopter.
Transferred to the normal department
The child, who apparently did not have water wings, was transferred to the normal ward on Tuesday in a stable condition. “She is out of danger,” said a spokeswoman for the clinic in Innsbruck. It was initially unclear how long the girl had been in the water. The hearing of the legal guardians was still pending on Tuesday.
