During forestry work in Schwarzach im Pongau, a worker was run over by a tree and seriously injured on Friday morning. The man was taken to the Schwarzach Clinic. The accident site was difficult to reach for the emergency services.
At 9:50 am, the Schwarzach volunteer fire brigade was alerted to an accident involving a forestry worker. A man was run over by his roots while cutting down a tree in Putzgrabenstrasse, near Schernberg Castle. When emergency services arrived, they were met by the victim’s colleague and taken to the scene of the accident. This was located 150 meters above the road, the path to it was steep and icy and difficult to reach for the emergency services.
The emergency doctor treated the seriously injured man and a mountain rescue service rescued him. Together, the emergency services of the fire brigade, Red Cross, mountain rescue and police brought the injured man with a basket stretcher to the street, where he was driven by the Red Cross to the Schwarzach Clinic.
