Videos, demos, voices: this is how a farmer from Lower Austria experienced the peasant uprising

Date:

German farmers protested in full force against the federal government’s agricultural policy on Monday. Gabriel Spettel, a young farmer from the Weinviertel (Lower Austria), also vented his anger on the spot: “In Germany, the last drop has simply been reached.”

Bauer is causing traffic jams, it was said on Monday in large parts of Germany. On Sunday evening, farmers from all over Germany were chugging along the highways on their tractors to the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. Not for the first time – and certainly not for the last time – farmers there mobilized against the austerity plans of the German traffic light government (SPD, FDP and Greens). Road traffic was at a standstill in many places and entire highways were closed.
