Because of music rights – Angry landlady now has to ‘dance’ in court

Date:

She was too exalted, that was exactly her flair – based on ‘Amadeus’ by Falco, the Linz rage landlady Alexandra P. (54), known as the Schwurbler icon, would have let it rip musically in ‘her’ bathroom café in the old town of Linz – without paying the resulting usage costs to the responsible AKM.

That is why the AKM is now demanding 4,800 euros from Alexandra P. and has filed a private lawsuit with the Linz Regional Court.

Works played despite ban
Because of these debts, the AKM forbade her in writing to continue playing protected works from the AKM repertoire to entertain her guests, the ‘Krone’ reports. But despite this ban, the landlady is said to have played several musical works during a music inspection on February 17, 2023, where 14 guests were reportedly present.

Not yet shown up for appointments
In any case, the music taste was more mainstream than rebellious. Alexandra P. is said to have served her café visitors the ear-pleasing ‘Greek Wine’ by Udo Jürgens. And even without knowing that inspectors were present, the stressed landlady must have “ran breathless through the night”.

It remains to be seen whether the suspect will finally appear in court this time. So far, she had canceled the appointments – most recently on December 19.
