In an apartment in Traismauer in the St. Pölten district, a 25-year-old was stabbed and seriously injured by his partner’s ex-boyfriend. The woman (26) was able to escape. The perpetrator was arrested for attempted murder.
A large contingent of rescue workers was on duty in Traismauer in the St. Pölten district on Wednesday evening around 9:30 p.m. A 41-year-old man from the Tulln district stormed into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment armed with a knife and attacked her new partner with a knife.
Victim seriously injured
The perpetrator probably still had a key to his ex’s apartment and used it to gain access unnoticed. He surprised the lovers in their sleep and stabbed their new friend in a blind rage. The 26-year-old managed to escape from the apartment to a neighbor and make an emergency call.
Perpetrator injured and arrested
The bloody attack left the 25-year-old with life-threatening injuries from stab wounds to his upper body. He had to be taken to hospital by emergency helicopter. The perpetrator also suffered cuts. The 41-year-old was arrested and required hospital treatment.
The Lower Austrian police are investigating attempted murder.
