Two men had to answer for sexual abuse at the regional court in Klagenfurt on Friday. The duo was acquitted on video footage. The men were acquitted.
The electric boat trip on Lake Wörthersee ended at the dock for a Russian and his Bosnian friend (27 and 34). The two men were accused of sexually abusing two 16-year-olds at the lake in the Krumpendorf area at the end of May last year (we reported).
Defendants pleaded not guilty
During the trial at the Klagenfurt Regional Court, the duo did not want to know anything about the rape and assured Judge Gernot Kugi and the lay judges that the sexual intercourse with the two girls had been voluntary.
And then the crucial video footage of that summer day came into view. It shows how the two girls got close to the suspect. The fact that the two minors lied about their ages – they said they were 18 at the time of the crime – also shows that lawyer Hans Gradischnig was already “ready for a flirt”.
The video material then formed the core of the verdict. Because it was clear to Judge Kugi that attempts had been made. Therefore, Mr Rat acquitted the two men when in doubt, but emphasized: “The question today was not to judge whether it is okay to approach girls of this age.” The judgment is not legally binding.
