The body of a woman was discovered during a fire in a house in Mistelbach on Friday morning. This is probably the resident of the house.
A 76-year-old woman died on Friday in a fire in a single-family home in Diepolz (Mistelbach district). Possible causes of the fire included carelessness with an open flame or an electrical fault, police spokeswoman Manuela Weinkirn said. The main areas affected by the fire, which also killed a cat, were the living and dining areas of the property.
The emergency services were alerted around 10 a.m. Several volunteer fire brigades were involved in the extinguishing work. Specialists from the state and federal police investigated the cause in the afternoon hours.
