Technical problems can annoy patients, but a 25-year-old bank customer went way too far with his response: because the ATM in a branch in Vienna-Leopoldstadt was on strike, he threatened to blow up the building.
On Thursday around 8:45 p.m., the Austrian wanted to withdraw money in the bank foyer. However, due to technical problems, the machine did not pay out money. The 25-year-old then grabbed the emergency telephone in the foyer and insulted the employee on the other end of the line.
When the 25-year-old threatened to blow up the branch, the employee got fed up and alerted the police.
The emergency services found the angry bank customer in the foyer and arrested him on suspicion of serious coercion. During his interrogation, the man seemed confessional and remorseful. He was generally reported.
