A Romanian (38) with two accomplices is said to have stolen valuables worth almost 60,000 euros from four jewelery and antique shops as part of a criminal organization. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the trio specialized in trick theft at jewelers.
They struck for the first time on June 1, 2021 in Salzburg, more precisely at an antique dealer in Andräviertel. Three more thefts followed on July 7, so within a month – in Salzburg, Mistelbach and in Wolfsberg. The thieves stole watches, jewelry and a gold bracelet. Only one of the three is now imprisoned in Puch Prison.
The father of three, who has several criminal records in his home country, has already made an extensive confession to the investigating judge, according to the indictment. The Romanian will soon have to answer to court for commercial theft. He is defended by lawyer Kurt Jelinek.
