There is still no trace of the armed perpetrator who robbed a Sparkasse branch in Kufstein, Tyrol, on Thursday afternoon and stole tens of thousands of euros. An alarm search, which was also extended to neighboring Bavaria, was unsuccessful.
At exactly 3:43 p.m., the unknown man stormed the Sparkasse branch in the Sparchen district of Kufstein. Masked and armed with a gun, the perpetrator threatened the two female employees present and demanded cash. The shocked women complied with the request and handed the criminal a five-figure sum.
Major manhunt in Tyrol and neighboring Bavaria
After the coup, the perpetrator fled. The police immediately launched a major manhunt. Due to the proximity of the border with Germany, the Bavarian police were also involved. However, the operation failed. There is still no trace of the perpetrator, as lead investigator Philipp Rapold of the LKA Tirol explained to the “Krone” on Friday morning.
The bank’s two female employees escaped in shock and were unharmed.
Researchers continue to hope for clues
Police are still hoping for information from the public. The fugitive is between 20 and 30 years old and about 1.70 meters tall. He was wearing a light jacket with a hood and dark clothing over it. The man spoke English with an accent and had a gun with him. According to the police, it cannot be said at this time in which direction the man fled.
Any useful information or suspicious sightings should be sent to the LKA Tirol on the telephone number: 059 133/70 3333.
