The series of serious accidents in Burgenland continues. On Wednesday, two cars crashed in early traffic on the S4 near Sigleß in the Mattersburg district. A victim of the head-on collision was trapped and died at the scene of the accident. The second driver had to be taken to hospital.
The fire service received the alarm at 7:21 a.m. on Wednesday. The armed forces presented a picture of horror. “After the collision, both cars were parked in the direction of Wiener Neustadt. There were splinters and pieces of sheet metal everywhere,” says Thomas Dienbauer, commander of the Florianis from Mattersburg.
Seriously injured in trauma room
A trapped driver (27) had to be freed quickly, but the injuries were too serious and all help came too late. The woman from the Oberpullendorf district has died. The second victim of the accident, a man in his mid-twenties, also from the Oberpullendorf district, was taken to the hospital in Eisenstadt. The first vital measures were taken in the shock room.
Exactly how the head-on crash happened has yet to be determined. Using a drone, the police measure the scene of the accident and take pictures from the air.
