Car crashed in stream – search led to fatal crash in Tyrol

Date:

Concerned family members launched a massive search for a 37-year-old driving a car on Saturday evening. Unfortunately, in the morning hours there was a sad discovery.

On Friday evening, the 37-year-old local resident planned to drive his car downhill from a hunting lodge in Pfunds. For an unknown reason, the car went over the edge of the road and fell approximately 500 feet over steep terrain.

Relatives raised the alarm
Because the man was not with his relatives at the agreed time, a large-scale search was launched by the Pfunds and Ried fire brigade, the mountain rescue service and the police.

Car on roof in stream bed
The vehicle was found lying on its roof in a stream bed around 6:40 am on Saturday morning. A short time later, the victim, who had probably been thrown from the vehicle, was found in the vicinity of the accident path. The emergency doctor called could only determine that the local man was dead.
