A major operation in Vienna caused a stir on Sunday morning. Several heavily armed police officers were seen at both Vienna-Mitte train station and Floridsdorf. Now it became known: they were looking for a 21-year-old who had made a dangerous threat. The young man has now been arrested.
Police arrived at several public places in the morning with a helicopter and WEGA’s special unit.
The emergency services searched for the 21-year-old at the train stations of Vienna-Mitte and Floridsdorf, among others. Trains were also checked. The arrest was ultimately made by WEGA officers in the Alsergrund district, near the AKH. The man’s interrogation was still pending around noon.

It is certain that the 21-year-old, who according to police spokeswoman Julia Schick belongs to the narcotics family, called a person in Graz around 3 a.m. and made threats.
