An elderly woman with dementia was out and about in Vienna on Sunday, freezing and disoriented. The woman (76) suddenly lost her orientation. Her husband was desperately looking for her. Thanks to the police, the man was able to hug his loved one again.
The abductee’s husband approached officers during their patrol shift and asked for help: he had suddenly lost sight of his wife, who was suffering from dementia. Although there was telephone contact with the woman, she lost her way, the police reported.
Cell phone could be located
“With the help of the mobile phone’s direction finding, the woman was located in the Mariahilf district and eventually found in the Liniengasse area,” the LPD Vienna said on Monday. The lady was cold, but fortunately not injured.
A short time later the man was able to hug his wife again.
