With this measure, the Basque Health Service wants to tackle the problem of the shortage of medical professionals.
The Basque Health Service has started hiring non-EU doctors among the 100 who have already registered on Osakidetza’s recruitment lists, 20 of whom have the mandatory requirement of having a diploma approved in Spain.
The Ministry of Health explained on its website that contracts are formalized based on vacant positions and the doctors’ preferences and under the same conditions as community professionals who access Osakidetza through the temporary recruitment lists.
With this measure, the Basque Health Service wants to tackle the problem of the shortage of medical professionals.
In concrete terms, six professionals specialized in general medicine, home hospitalization, general surgery and digestive system, radiodiagnostics, rheumatology and urology have already joined their position.
