Shocking moment for an 83-year-old driver on the Murtal Expressway on Tuesday: While driving, her car suddenly started burning. The woman from Styria was able to escape from the car and was unharmed; the car is a total loss.
Around 10 a.m., the 83-year-old noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment of her vehicle. She immediately parked the car and got out at the last minute – immediately afterwards the car was completely on fire.
The following vehicle drivers started the rescue chain. The fire was extinguished after about 20 minutes by the Knittelfeld volunteer fire brigade.
The Styrian woman panicked, but fortunately was unharmed. Her car was a total loss and the road on S 36 was also damaged by the fire.
