This neighbor deserves an honor: he raised the alarm half an hour after midnight on Thursday when he noticed a fire in a neighboring house in Haag am Hausruck, Upper Austria. The father of the family saved his wife and three children. The family was taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.
On Monday around 12:30 p.m., a witness discovered a fire in the neighboring house in the Grieskirchen district and alerted the emergency services. The father of the family also woke up and led his wife and their three children, aged between ten and fourteen, outside to safety.
Cause unclear
The fire brigade got the fire under control and extinguished it. The 34-year-old and his 33-year-old wife and three children were taken to hospital with suspected smoke poisoning. The cause of the fire is currently unclear, so a fire expert was called – the investigation is ongoing.
