The government of Navarra and EH Bildu reach a budget agreement

Navarre’s public accounts will be approved on March 7. The budget for non-financial expenditure amounts to 5,742 million euros, 504 more than last year.

For the fifth year in a row EH Bildu and the Government of Navarre (comprising PSN, Geroa Bai and Contigo Navarra) have concluded a budget agreement allowing the approval of the 2024 accounts. It was the Minister of Economy and Finance of the Government of Navarre, José Luis Arasti, who announced the agreement , after handing over the project of accounts this morning to the President of the Provincial Chamber Unai Hualde.

The non-financial expenditure budget of the director of María Chivite is 5,742 million euros, 504 more than last year. Barring any last-minute surprises, the bills will be approved at the March 7 plenary.

Arasti has emphasized “the consensus reached for the approval of the budget” and stated that “EH Bildu has been the only group that has responded to the executive’s call to sit around the table to negotiate about what would be the best budget project for the Foral. community”.

The advisor explained that “the dialogue started weeks ago and has always been aimed at finding the points that unite us, the maxims on which we have agreed to arrive at useful and solid budgets to meet the needs of citizens in economic and social level”.

In a note, the government of Navarre stated that the agreement reached is based on three major lines: “place the needs of citizens at the center of public policy; protect and expand public services to address insecurities and inequalities; promote the capacity and transformative power of Navarrese society to move towards a scenario of economic progress and a common and egalitarian social system, with no one left behind”.

As agreed, both the Government of Navarre, through the parliamentary groups represented in it and the EH Bilduse parliamentary group, undertake “to vote in favor of all previously agreed amendments tabled for this purpose, and to vote against all amendments not signed” unless a different voting direction is unanimously decided.

The signatory parties have also committed themselves to: supervision committee of the budget agreement to monitor the implementation process and the implementation of the agreements and commitments contained therein and to evaluate the level of compliance therewith.
