Emergency workers saw a horrible scene on Thursday evening after an accident on the B 53 near Lichtenwörth in the Wiener Neustadt district. A car crashed into a tree and the vehicle was completely destroyed. But emergency services found no injuries at the scene. A large-scale search followed.
No injuries, no handlebars
What no one knew at the time: the driver had emerged from the wreck without injuries, but probably with a bad conscience. Because he was driving around the blood alcohol level and without a valid driver’s license, he lost control of the car. So he left the wrecked BMW behind and went missing.
