Major fire brigade operation on Saturday evening in the Tyrolean lowlands: A farm was on fire in St. Ulrich am Pillersee (Kitzbühel district). The resident (87) and approximately 30 animals have been brought to safety. The exact cause of the fire is still unclear.
According to initial information from the police, the fire broke out around 10 p.m. When the alarmed fire brigade arrived, the roof of the farm was on fire. The 87-year-old resident was able to escape unharmed. The emergency services were also able to bring about thirty animals to safety.
Difficult to use in subzero temperatures
Dozens of firefighters from the region battled the flames for hours in freezing temperatures. Around 3:30 am it was finally announced that the “fire was out”.

The cause of the fire is currently completely unclear. Police fire investigators were already on site on Saturday morning.
