A man from Linz was driven from Linz to Wels and back by a taxi driver. But instead of paying, the man ran away. A short time later, the police were able to arrest a suspect. There could be a ‘serious perpetrator’.
On Friday afternoon, a 58-year-old taxi driver from Linz was robbed of his driving wages by an initially unknown young man. He had himself driven from Linz to Wels and back again. When he arrived at his destination, he simply jumped out of the vehicle and ran away – without paying his three-figure debt.
Officially already known
Ultimately, the perpetrator was tracked down and identified. It concerns a well-known man (27) from Linz.
Same game on Saturday
On Saturday evening there was again taxi fraud in Wels. Around 1:40 am another man was driven from Linz to Wels. When he arrived at his destination, the perpetrator explained to the 55-year-old taxi driver that he had no cash with him. He explained that he would hand over the fare and got out, but he never came back. Whether it is the same perpetrator is still being investigated.
